If you ever come to America sure there's a lot of things you should do. Places to visit, see and do. But you really, really must try a root beer float. Or even just root beer. Root beer's never really taken off in the UK but I love it, it's my pop (yes they still call pop, pop in Michigan) of choice - yeah we all have one admit it. But yeah, root beer floats are magic. Have one, they'll change your life.
any kind of float with vanilla ice cream is fantastic - Coke float, Orange Crush float...I think I know what I'll be having for dessert today!
ReplyDeleteI tried root beer once about fifteen years ago, oh my, never again! but now you've shared that tasty looking pic I wonder is my taste buds have changed.... will have a try if it comes into my life again!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid to admit I'm not a fan of root beer. I wonder if it's because I'm a real sweet tooth, because I don't like ginger beer/ale either. In PA we also have birch beer, which is like root beer but even worse. Tastes like medicine to me!
ReplyDeleteI was going to try a Root Beer Float today at Shake Shack but I chickened out. I will definitely try it next time, now that you've recommended it as a "must do"!
ReplyDeleteI tried root beer float five years ago for the first time and I really hated it. I guess everything about it seemed just too odd for me at the time. Last summer I tried just root beer without any icecream in it and mmmm that was actually good!
ReplyDeleteIt surprises me that root bear is so hit and miss but I do admit it does have a special kind of taste. I'm intrigued by the Birch Beer - might have to try and get my hands on some the next time i'm seeing the in-laws in Pittsburgh!
ReplyDeleteI love root beer floats, i just wish root beer wasnlt so expensive or hard to din over here!
