LIFE: Roses of Yesterday

Roses Roses Roses Roses

Sundays use to often be spent with my camera going snap happy in my parents garden. With them being keen gardeners there were always new flowers blooming - from apple blossom, sunflowers to sweet peas growing between the peas down on the allotment. Being in an apartment and gardenless, I miss both the space and access of a garden and being able to take photographs of them, because in honesty that's how I really got into taking photographs as a hobby.

Every week I use to post the photographs here on my blog, mainly for myself and it is something I miss. I don't have a fancy DSLR but my bridge does me just fine. It's always been for fun so even though the light totally sucks in our apartment I wanted to play around like the old days with photographs of some roses Joe surprised me with.

So the roses are brightening our apartment which currently can't keep warm enough with the -18C temperatures outside. The Artic cold front seems to be stuck over our corner of Michigan and after dumping 6 or so inches of snow over the last two days we now have extremely cold weather. Yey for sofa days, endless cups of tea and blankets. So many blankets.

It really isn't nice out there so stay warm and safe if the cold snap if paying you a visit this week.

  3. These are beautiful! I especially like the second lilac-y one, such an unusual colour for a rose and just gorgeous. Recently I've gotten into taking more pictures. It's nice just to chronicle things in pictures to look back on.

    1. Yeah I miss just having that private outside space, I mean we have a grassy bit in front of our apartment but everyone walks past and stares if you think of sitting outside.

Anyways - blanket mountain is at the ready for keeping warm!
