Verstaile Blogger Award

Firstly thank you to everyone that commented on or tweeted me about the somewhat thought provoking comparison between religion in the UK and the USA. It took me a while between writing and publishing the post because I wanted to get it just right. I hope I didn't offend anyone, and that was never my intention - I just wanted the space to remark from my own experiences the place of religion both within my home country and the US.

On a less controversial note, Charis [make sure to check out her blog because it's fab] awarded me the versatile blogger award and like her, I thought I'd do my own take on the 7 things about me tag [because I'm sure I've done it somewhere else in these three years of blogging]. Instead I want to share one of my Pinterest boards - seven places I want to visit in the old US of A.

Grand Canyon - talk about amazing landscapes.
Williamsburg - see where the settlers first landed and lived
San Francisco - After seeing Joe's photographs of the city it just looks amazing

Washington D.C - the White House, the Washington Monument and the cherry trees
Yellowstone - We're natural history geeks - it's a must
Las Vegas - because you just have too

Michigan's Upper Peninsula - an understated part of America

Where would you love to visit in the US?

  3. Hi Rachael,

Yes,Yes,Yes, visit the Grand Canyon while you are still young and can make the trip to the bottom. It is so AWESOME!!!!!!!

Get reservations for Mule Rides into the Grand Canyon. Ride down into the canyon and stay overnight at the Phantom Ranch. The ride down on the sure-footed mule is about 10.5 miles (5.5 hours) a challenging trip. Brief stops are made to rest the mules every 30-45 minutes during which time you can enjoy the beauty of the canyon or take pictures but not dismount.
To see the real beauty of the Grand Canyon you must see it with your own eyes.
Our parents live close to Valle,Arizona located 30 miles north of Williams and 30 miles South of the South Rim of the Grand Canyon at the junction of US Highway 180 and US Highway 64. So we fly down there and visit our parents and we usually end up at the Grand Canyon. We always see something we missed before.
Interesting post. Hope you are having a great weekend!
    Love, Joan and Joann

  4. Ooooo I also want to visit the Grand Canyon, Washington & Las Vegas (I actually want to get married in LV;))
I'm hoping to go on one of those treks in America in a few years that covers all three of these places but I don't think I'll be able to afford that one:) I can definitely dream about it though!
Hope you visit them all one day xxx

  6. I've been to a few places in America but New Mexico was by far my favourite - the night sky was out of this world. I'd love to go back there and see it again.

  7. I'm with you on Washington - especially in cherry blossom season! I'd love to do a Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi road-trip... And see Vermont in Autumn. And Alaska. And Colorado. And Chicago... too many places, not enough time! We did San Francisco up to Seattle via Portland earlier this year, awesome trip. San Francisco was cool, but Seattle remains my all-time favourite!

    1. Yeah we'd want to visit in the Cherry blossom season although I think we'd have to make two trips seeing as we want to visit so many of the museums there! Chicago is a great city - fell in love with that city the moment we got there.
