LIFE: Blossom

Blossom Blossom

Spring blossoms finally come around just as the first thunderstorms of the year roll in. From the freezing temperature of winter past - like when it was -20C and all. We're now in the dizzy heights of the mid to high 20C's most days (Yorkshire summer time = Michigan spring) although April shows seem to be rolling into May this week. If all a little late.

It takes to mid May for the blossoms to appear in all their pinks and white. Come Monday morning before I started work, I quickly grabbed my camera and dashed out before another oncoming thunder shower and the accompanying wind blew the natural confetti off the trees. Now, a couple of days later, the same blossoms are looking a little sorry for themselves, all waterlogged and a little droopy. I know that feeling sometimes.

Anyway, we have a hectic long weekend ahead with house hunting and family visiting, I'll see you on the other side!

  3. All our blossoms have come and good. It gets quite windy here so it's all blown off in no time.
It was warming up here, now it thunderstorms all week long but the sun is back now. Shame that Kris has to work on his thesis now... Got to put my summer day trips on hold.

Enjoy the house hunting, hope it goes well!

  5. Lovely pictures! I did the same this weekend when I saw a tree fully bloomed outside and I am so happy I did.. Because you are definitely right when you said that after the storms they now look pretty sorry :(( I love spring for new blossoms and fall for the color changes!

  6. What pretty flowers! I feel like it wasn't too long ago we were talking about how snowy it was in both our towns, ha! How the weather changes so quickly hey - it's been nice around my place too (low-mid 20's), just enough for our trees down the driveway to blossom! Although they're still pretty fragile in the wind :S plus we're supposed to get some rain this weekend so we'll see how they are next week... fingers crossed they don't all fall off in the next few days!!
Have fun house hunting & spending time w the fam! :)

  10. Lovely pictures. I was in love with the blossom this year as it didn't end up getting blown off the tree in about two days, which is unusual, so it lasted for ages.

Best of luck with the house hunting.

  11. So pretty! I love blossom but they never last long and it makes such a mess! Haha. I'd like some of that 20 degree heat now. We seem to be mainly stuck around 14 degrees most days :(
