VINTAGE: Singer Adverts

Through inheriting my Singer Sewing Machine (see previous post) I thought I'd use it as the main inspiration for searching around the internet (via the good old google search) to look for anything random to do with singer machines, then I stumbled upon the following advertisements;

1936 black and white advisement for a "modern" electric machine, one allowing the modern women the perfect way to make her own wardrobe.

1959 and the introduction of the family into the frame alongside the advertisements for portable sewing machines, especially designed to aid the function and needs of young and growing families.

  1. Each of these ads is a delight to view, and a noteworthy marker of the social importance once attached to one's prowess when it came to the time-honoured art of sewing.

    Thank you very much for your lovely comment, my dear. I hope that you're having a splendid weekend!

  2. It's funny that the model 185 in the ad looks blue; as far as I know the actual machines were green. The tan model 301 below it is another good machine.

  6. You said something about keeping away from getting dietary supplements.
    Can it be okay which i consider a single per day women's vitamins? As well as I wanted to ask, can it be alright to add protein shakes in my diet?
